Dragon year 2012 is rule by General Peng Tai 龙年壬辰太岁-彭泰大将军.

2012 Ren Chen Water Dragon Year, Tai Sui is General Peng Tai, both hand carry a dragon statue. He was born in the Ming Dynasty, he is an intelligent since he was a boy. He attained his scholar in the year 1394 and was given the Official post after that. He is a simple and straight forward and hard working person. Peng Tai came from a poor family.He married young and have a loving family life.

Tai Sui is like a Minister, control the policy of dragon year. Tai Sui control the peoples' luck and the whole year matter related to health and well being. Sometime he play the role of a judge. He take charge of the day to day administration. In the beginning of the year, many people will pray to Tai Sui for a blessing year ahead.

Tai Sui is also known as Grand Duke of Jupiter; planet Jupiter.

DAY PILLAR ON LUNAR NEW YEAR DAY.

23rd January 2012 is the first day of the Lunar New Year, to have a good start in the new year day is very important. On this day, the day stem is Gui 癸 water, and the earthly branch is Wei 未 Goat, earth element. In the 6 clashes, Goat clashes with Ox. Those with zodiac sign Ox can carry a Horse amulet to avoid the clash, to seek a good beginning in this day.

AUSPICIOUS DIRECTION.

On Monday 23/1/12, the first destination you are heading may be to the temple, to relative house or to pay respect to the ancestor. Our readers should have heard of Heaven and Earth. In the Heaven we have the 9 stars and in Earth we have the 9 palaces. 9 stars meaning: Star 1 (white), Star 2 (black), Star 3 (jade), Star 4 (green), Star 5 (yellow), Star 6 (white), Star 7 (gray), Star 8 (white) and Star 9 (purple).

9 stars flies according to time, in certain time it is auspicious and in other time it is inauspicious. This reflect the true changes of one's luck.

THE 5 AUSPICIOUS STAR.

Star 1, white water star (Tang Lang)control career, public relationship and romance.

4 green academic wood star, control wisdom and academic achievement.

6 white (Wu Qi) star, it is an authority star and it is capable of activating one's travelling horse, therefore, this star is very much related to career success.

NORTH-EAST.

EAST.

SOUTH-EAST.

CENTRAL.

Sta6 in the central, this star can be considered as auspicious if proper care and activation is taken. It also can cause problem if not used properly. The common practice for star 6 section is placing a bowl of still water (no moving water) and place 6 ancient coins to activate the indirect wealth.

Many believe that only the zodiac that are against the Tai Sui in the Dragon year 壬辰 need to pray to the Tai Sui also known as Grand Duke of Jupiter. How about those zodiacs that not against the Grand Duke but want to seek good health and better luck in the Dragon Year?
In my earlier post on zodiac luck in dragon year, I mentioned about the protection Buddha, one can either chant, offer prayer or buy an amulet to wear. In this post is about the 12 Medicine Buddha 十二药叉伸将, each zodiac is protected by a medicine or health Buddha. The Buddhist temple at 817 Bukit Batok West Ave 5 (next to Bukit Batok Driving Ctr),Tel 66657566, did offer prayer of the 12 zodiac Medicine Buddha during the new year; from first day to 15th day of Lunar New Year.

Lunar New Year falls on 23rd January 2012 and many readers would like to know their luck in the dragon year. Here, I would like to emphasis that Water Dragon (壬辰),Ren Chen will arrived on 4th Feb 2012. Secondly, I also want to let the readers know that forecast based on zodiac may not be 100% accurate to all. I personally, would like to use the day stem to tell a person luck in the Ren Chen Year or Water Dragon Year. Generally, I will tell you each of the zodiac for the Dragon Year, how many good stars and bad stars are attached to the zodiac, at the same time, I will indicate the protection Buddha for the different zodiac, which you may want to pray for the whole year protection.I know of this temple at Bukit Batok, Tel 66657566, did offer prayer of the 12 zodiac protection Buddha during the new year.It is different from praying Tai Sui. Prayer to the protection Buddha that protect the person with that particular zodiac.
RAT.

Rat in Chinese is written as 鼠 or 子. Rat always like to be the first, for 2012, there is no exception, the Rat will behave like a Hero. Rat zodiac like to be big brother in the year of dragon. While they want to behave like big brother, the surrounding people may want to back stab the rat. The best is to avoid unnecessary heroic act especially during the timing of 11am to 1 pm. Look out for those horse zodiac. Try to stay low profile. When walking along high rise building try to lookout for falling objects. The protection Buddha for rat is Thousand Hands Buddha (千手观音).
OX.

Ox in Chinese is written as 牛 or 丑. The protect Buddha for Ox is Bodhisattva of Wisdom & Memory 虚空蔵菩薩.Ox in the Dragon Year is consider a clash with the Tai Sui. Avoid small talk which may lead to trouble. Nobleman is with the Ox and there may be some luck at time. Take care the heath of those who are close to you.
TIGER.

Tiger in Chinese is written as 虎 or 寅. The Tiger and the Ox have the same protection Buddha, which is Bodhisattva of Wisdom & Memory 虚空蔵菩薩. Tiger zodiac can expect a busy year ahead, with lot of travelling and movement. Most of the tiger people will do well academically. It can be also a crying year as some may faced unhappiness due to mistakes and no one come and help out.
RABBIT.

Rabbit, some call it Hare. In Chinese is it written as 卯 or 兔. Nobleman is with the Rabbit zodiac in 2012. Do look out for those around you, as there are peoples who may hurt you. Try not to perform important action during the timing of 5pm to 7pm. Do take care of your own health, because in 2012 can be a sick year. The protection Buddha is Lord of Wisdom,Wénshū Púsà,文殊菩薩.
DRAGON.

Dragon is consider the most auspicious zodiac to the Chinese. During the dragon, there is expectation of baby boom. Dragon in Chinese is written as 龙 or 辰. The protection Buddha for Dragon is Bodhisattva of Practice,Pǔxián Púsà,普賢菩薩. It will be a lonely year for the dragon. Someone close may leave. Year 2012 is also a clash with Tai Sui. Stay low profile. Not many good star is with the dragon in 2012. Advice to pray to the protection Buddha.
SNAKE.

The protection Buddha for Snake and Dragon are the same,Bodhisattva of Practice,Pǔxián Púsà,普賢菩薩. Snake written in Chinese is 蛇 or 巳. A sunshine year for the Snake. Expected to be happy and joy. A good year for the snake. The opposite for the snake is loneliness, emptiness and faced with unexpected problems in 2012, there are 4 inauspicious stars against 3 auspicious stars.
HORSE.

Horse in Chinese is written as 午 or 马. The protection Buddha is Bodhisattva of Strength, Da Shì Zhì,勢至菩薩. Horse can expect wealth and problems will solve eventually with the help of self thinking. In 2012, horse is to be more careful of accident. Those work in the high risk industries, please take extra care in safety. Those who drive are to drive safely.
GOAT.

Goat zodiac person is advised to pray to the Cosmic Buddha,Dàrì Rúlái,大日如来, protection Buddha. In 2012, the goat or some other called it a sheep, is against the Tai Sui. Sheep zodiac who are in the civil servant may expect a promotion at the same time be awarded with medal. Do stay low profile for the year and focus on what you are doing. In Chinese is it written as 未 or 羊.
MONKEY.

The protection Buddha for the monkey and the goat zodiac are the same;Cosmic Buddha,Dàrì Rúlái,大日如来. The monkey zodiac is expected to hold high post in work or expected a promotion. While the higher the post, monkey zodiac is also expected to entangle with people in term of public relationship is not so good. May get into legal trouble. Is advisable to pray for protection.In Chinese it is written as 申 or 猴
ROOSTER.

Rooster in 2011 is a clashed with Tai Sui, in 2012, the rooster is in 6 combined with dragon. The rooster have 4 auspicious and 4 inauspicious stars in 2012. Romance is the main obstacle for rooster. The rooster may face with triangle love problem. Try to avoid. The protection Buddha is Kings of Mystical Knowldege,MYŌ-Ō,明王. In Chinese, it is written as 鸡 or 酉.
DOG.

Dog in the year of 2012 is in direct clash with the dragon. In any year, the zodiac in direct clash with the year zodiac is considered as the most inauspicious. The dog also do not enjoy any auspicious star, instead there are 4 inauspicious stars. The protection Buddha is Pure Land Lord,Āmítuó Fó,阿彌陀佛. The dog zodiac people if everyday can chant a thousand time of "阿彌陀佛" will be very good. Advise to pray to the protection Buddha. In Chinese, dog is written as 狗 or 戌.
PIG.

In Chinese, pig is written as 猪 or 亥. The protection Buddha is Pure Land Lord,Āmítuó Fó,阿彌陀佛. Some people may call it the Boar. In all the zodiacs, pig or boar enjoy the most auspicious stars; altogether there are 4 stars. Pig zodiac if plan to embark or venture into something big have to be more prudent, because they may faced failure. Pig will have a very good year in 2012. It is a A star status.

We are into the month of 'Hai Yin Water (亥)', this is the beginning of Winter. It will arrives on 8/11 at about 0252 hrs. 亥，子，丑 form the winter frame, as every season consists of 3 months. Hai(亥）is yin water, we can say that this water is cold and freezing. This month, the auspicious star 8 is in the central palace. This is an interesting month, all palaces take into consideration the Year and Month stars, they are in running digit; ie central we have 7+8, north-west we have 8+9. Coming back to the month of Hai(亥), see this month pillar:
MONTH OF NOVEMBER.

The month of Heavenly Stem Ji(己) is soft earth, sitting below is the Earthly Branch Hai(亥) yin water. Hai(亥) clashes with Earthly Branch Si(巳) yin fire. In zodiac term; Pig(亥) clashes with Snake（巳）. We are into the new month of late autumn from 8 OCT 2011 at about 2357 hrs. Every season ends with a earth element month; the Oct month is the month of zodiac Dog 戌, this element earth is a hot earth. 9 purple fire star entered to the central palace. Before we enter into the analysis of the 8 palaces, let us take a look on this month pillar.
MONTH PILLAR.

The month pillar of Heavenly Stem Wu 戊 represent earth element and it represents big rock or mountain. The Earthly branch of Xu 戌 also represent earth element and it represents zodiac dog. Earth branch also represent grave or pot. Xu 戌 is a fire pot because hidden in the earthly branch is fire. This branch clash with dragon.

CENTRAL PALACE.
Star 9 purple fire star in the central palace is in a clash position with year star 7 in the central. Nevertheless, star 9 is a future star and if use it carefully it can bring in wealth.
NORTHWEST PALACE.
Star 1 with month star 8 in this palace formed an auspicious combination. Place a metal singing bowl at this sector to enhance the energy.
WEST PALACE.
Sickness star 2 in this sector, making it an inauspicious West for this month. This sector is to keep clean and no activity.

Star 1, is a timely star and also an auspicious star. For the month of 8 Sep to 8 Oct, auspicious star 1 is at the center palace. The sickness star 2 will be at the North-West palace for the month, the changes take effects from 8 Sep at 0833 hrs.
MONTH PILLAR.

The month pillar of Havenly Stem Ding 丁，Earthly Branch of You 酉 are of Yin energy. Ding 丁 is like a light bulb or candle light and You 酉 is yin metal, it is also know as the Rooster. It also signify that we are entering into the month of Mid Autumn 中秋，where the Chinese celebrates Mid Autumn Festival 中秋节。祝大家中秋佳节快了。
This month is also know as the "Broken Month". In auspicious day selection the month of You 酉 is not an auspicious month due to the fact that it is a clashed month; Rabbit(year zodiac) clashed with Rooster (month zodiac). You may want to avoid starting any new venture in this month.

In 2010, the year pillar is Yang Metal over Yang Wood, 2011 Rabbit year, the year pillar is Yin Metal over Yin Wood.

SINGAPORE drivers are engaging in more dangerous behaviour on the roads.
According to a survey of 500 motorists by motor insurer AXA, more drivers are speeding, running through amber lights and overtaking without signalling among other things.
For example, 75 per cent of respondents admitted to driving 10kmh above the speed limit. This is up from 63 per cent last year.
Also 69 per cent said they had gone through an amber light compared to 61 per cent a year ago.
AXA said it would use the information it collated to continue with its education programme on safe driving.
Conducted over a month from March to April this year , the poll covered 500 motorists - 300 car owners, 100 taxi drivers and 100 motorcyclists.

Moa (Rabbit) is the direction East, belongs to Zhen 震 Trigram. Zhen is also the figure of Eldest Son. Ji Earth is like garden soil which allows the growth and provides life in this earth.

It has been sometime that I have not been posting in this blog. The main reasons are that the last two week we are still in the Lunar New Year mood and at the same time, many of my close friends wanted to DIY the auspicious location to make their first visit. Over the Lunar New Year Period thousands of valueable readers have been refering to my blog for the new year tips. This made me very satisfying.

The month of Ji Mao start on 6th March 2010 at about 0052 hrs.

1. Water Star 1 is assigned to be in the centre which caused Earth to control Water. The year of Geng Yin already see a shortage of water, are we going to see some sort of water rationing?

3. 3 Jade interact with double 1 Water Stars in the East, making the 3 Jade stronger. Implement something red at this section will helps to reduce the effect of 3 Jade.

4. The North East sector with the double 2 Black making this area not an auspicous sector. With the Star 4 here, it does no assist in any improvement. Watch out for this area. No movement at this sector.

Example 1: A map of the Macro level of the area you are living. For example, the location in this example is Yio Chu Kang.
Place the compass onto the map.The centre of the compass on the location where you live, for example Yio Chu Kang.
Example 2: A map of the micro level of where your house is.
Place the compass onto the house where you live, then find out the auspicious sectors.

Tips on Year of Tiger 2010 Flying Star

The Ox is handing over to Tiger on 4th Feb 2010 at about 0642 hrs. In the year of the Ox, the Ox month will be appearing on the 6th of Jan 09,coincidently, after the Ox month, it will be followed by the Tiger month. It is also the start of Spring. In chinese calander, the first month is Spring Start and it is also Tiger Month.

d. You need to take all the opening where the doors are, the windows are, so that those facing and opening sectors at the Star 2,3 and 5 are to guard accordingly.

I personally have this experience of taking reading for friends and clients houses, the end results are that I can't get the house facing reading from the compass. We can say that this is void, this house is facing a void direction.
There are 8 directions that a house will be facing. If a house is facing on the trigram dividers (ref to diagram - red lines), this house is facing a void direction.
How It Affects The Owner

Hall Area Not Suitable to be too Small

In feng shui aspect, the hall if it smaller than the bedroom area, it will affects those who are living in the house.

Recently, a friend of my asked me why his family members when reach home, they will head striaght to the bedroom; nobody likes to stay at the hall area.
My replied to him, "Are the bedrooms bigger than the hall?" His replied, "YES!"
That is correct, this is only one of the problem. There are problems such as:
family members will interact less,
slowly,they act like independant party,
family members will not be co-operative,
and more serious, each will go their own ways.
So my advise to those whose house layout are as such, please quickly rectified it.

The Month of Yin Water and Yin Metal don't seem to be a peaceful month after all. At the Pacific and S.E Asia region we see tsurami and earth quake and typhoon. Could it be the Star 9 and 7 are creating havoc ? We hope that the month of Yang Wood and Yang Earth will bring us harmony and peace to the world.

1. FLOWERS
First thing is to check that there are no either fake or real flowers display in your home. I understand that flowers are nice and enhance the atmosphere of the house. It is nice to look at but not to the extent that affects the relationship of a couple. That goes the same to flower vast.
Flowers invite romance. Remove them if there is any. If these are placed at the wrong sector of the house especially the NW and SW, the demages will be unbelievable.
2. ITEMS AT THE NORTHWEST SECTOR OF THE HOUSE

Steps to a Proper Feng Shui Bed

There are many posts regarding feng shui for bedroom in my previous post. In this post, it is mainly the selection and placing of a bed.
In a Feng Shui audit, bedroom is one of the key section/location that a Feng Shui Master will not overlook. One of the key factor to consider is the buying of new bed.
What to look out for when buying a new bed ?

A good bed with feng shui consideration will improves the aspect of one life, be it career, health and love.
1. THE QI/CHI
An ideal bed should have legs to raise the bed above the ground to allow the chi to ciculate undernealth the bed. This will assists in healing and helps to improve the health of the person who sleep on the bed.
2. NO STORAGE OF ITEMS UNDER THE BED
Chi need to circulate undernealth the bed. If there are items under the bed, the chi will not circulate, thus causing bed health. No sharp objects, like metel etc.

3. SPACE AT BOTH SIDE OF THE BED
Placing of bed also needs to consider the landform. Both side of the bed should be equal and balance. No items higher than the bed head should be placed directly next to the bed, in order not to cause harm to the couple sleeping on the bed. Space at both side of the bed will allows the chi to flow.
4. MATTRESS SIZE
A queen bed is prefferred over a king size bed. Mattress should be in one complete piece. Never use two mattress side by side in one bed. This is will suggest a seperation for a couple who sleep together in this bed.
5. HEADBOARD and FOODBOARD
All bed should have a firm and stable headboard. Some headboard are made of rods and some are split in the middle (modern design), these type of headboard should be avoided. A firm, stable and solid headboard will provides protection to health and relationship. There is not necessary to have footboard.

SHAPE OF LAND

The quality of the house depends very much on the shape of the land where the house sit. Like an apartment, the shape should be either square or rectangular. Private property also needs to have a good land shape to support it quality. Preferably,the shape should be flat, wide and regular. Irregualar shapes will affect the quality of the house.
In this post, I would like to point out two type of land shapes that are bad for the house.
Firstly, let us take a look on the shapes of the house of these two pictures.
Picture 1 shows a house front is straight but the back left or right are either short or long at one side of the land. Such land will affect the male if the left is short and the wife or children if the right is short. The problems will be loneliness and caused harm to the person who are affected.
Picture 2 shows a house front is wide and the back is narrow. For this type of land, it will affect the wealth and health of the person staying in the house. This can be applicable to apartment as well.
I hope these tips will provide you with basic knowledge in selecting a house.

AVOID TOILET AND KITCHEN IN THE CENTRE OF THE HOUSE

Centre of the house is like the heart. An impotant point to take note of is before commit to buy a house, check that the toilet and the kitchen is not situated at the centre of the house.
In acient time, before building of the house, the Feng Shui master will advise on the Sitting and Facing of the house that is to be build.
As regard to the where the toilet and kitchen, it is important factor to be considered. Avoid toilet and kitchen to be at the centre of the house.
See below picture:
1. Kitchen is not suitable to be at the centre of the house, this will caused "Yang Sha at the heart". It will affect the mood of the owner. The owner will be hot temper and emotion will be up and down, "mood swing".
2. Toilet is not situable to be at the centre of the house, this will caused "Yin Sha at heart". This will caused the owner to suffer cronic desease, for example, stomach sickness, high blood pressure problem, which is difficult to cure.
Either the toilet or the kitchen or both are not suitable to be at the center of the house. These will cause bad luck to the house.
Avoid also the main door either face the toilet or the kitchen. Depending on where the location it, it will affect the person it represent in that location. For example, if the affect sector is at the East, it will affect the health and wealth of the eldest son. East sector belongs to the eldest son.
In conclusion,
1. Both toilet and kitchen in the centre of the house is the most inauspicious.
2. Toilet door or the kitchen door directly faces the main door is the next inauspicious. See picture below:

1. Wei which is Goat clashes with the yearly Branch of Chou Ox. We can say that this is a month breaker. In a month breaker, try to avoid starting important events.
2. We also can say that Xin Wei month is a strong earth month, as we see the year of Ji Chou (both Yin Earth) and this month we see Xin Wei which is Yin Metal, Yin Earth month.
3. Since the month branch clashes with year branch and come Xu day, there is a procecuting clashes of Ox-Goat-Dog. Bazi with DM of Water have to exercise cautious.

Excel in Exam With The Correct WenChang Location

Final year exam season will be starting after the mid-year school holiday. This is going to happen in sometime early Oct. It will be the busiest time for the students taking the exam. Not only are the students busy with their study. Their parents will be the worried lot. Many time the children work very hard for their exam but the result turn-out to be a disappointed one. Knowing that their children stay in the study room throughout the day, and how come the result is the reverse. The parent will be in doubt of their children. If so, we need to examine whether the study room or desk is located in the WenChang sector.
In Yang Feng Shui 阳宅, if the study corner or desk is not sitting in the WenChang location, the end result can be a disappointed one. Therefore it is imperative to find the Wenchang sector of the home to excel in exam.
There are 3 methods of locating Wenchang sector based on Individual birth year, the house sitting and facing and lastly, the yearly star.
The above chart is based on Individual Birth Year, and it is correspond to the Heavenly Stem of the Chinese Lunar Year calculation. For example, those born in 2009, the Heavenly Stem is Ji Chou 己丑，己 which is 9, the WenChang location is at the NorthWest more North. This method of finding the location does not take into consideration the sitting and facing of the house.
The above chart shows the house sitting and facing. Based on house sitting to find Wenchang location. To find the house sitting and facing we need a compass for the measurement.
The 3rd method of finding the WenChang location is based on the yearly flying star. Yearly flying stars not only use for locating the yearly WenChang location, the stars also affect the fortune of individual house. Many people believe that placement of feng shui ornaments will bring them good luck and wealth. Some ornaments even come in a form of art or poster, these arts or posters will have auspicious poem written onto it. This post, I am touching on the placement of ship or boat for smooth sailing.
There are many factors to consider for placement of feng shui ornaments. We have to take into account the 5 elements interaction. We have to consider the type of ornaments and it implication and meaning. For example, if you look at the above picture, this ship is place on top of a pink cloth, do you think this makes sense? Red represent Fire, how can a ship be on fire! To harmonise the whole ornament, it should be place on a blue cloth.
Normally, we present auspicious items like ship with the wording "Smooth Sailing" in chinese is "一帆凤順“, to someone and we don't know the implication behind it, what we will know is that this is a well wishes and auspicious gift.
Come to placement, we have to understand it effect so that it will bring us auspicious Qi. Firstly, we have to identify that the ship does have a ship head and a ship end(bow). We know the ship head, for us to place the sailing direction.
Sail in our sail out? A ship with full of treasure, like the one in the picture should sail-in, because the ship is loaded with all the treasure already and we do not want the treasure to be brought out of the house, right?
Likewise, for poster with ship, we also need to place it in the correct direction. For poster of ship, we need to have water or cloud to signify that the ship is in sailing position. A empty boat or ship, should place it sailing direction out of the house, this is to signify that the ship sail-out to bring in all the treasure.
Those who need water as their favourable element can also make use of ship and boat to signify a pool of water. Further to that, knowning how to write your wishes and place in a red packet then put on the ship will also one of the way to sail-in your wishes to come true.

Month of Yin Earth over Yin Fire

Early Summer will arrive on 5th May 09 at about 1739 hrs. We will see a different Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branch. It is also the 4th lunar month or also known as Snake Month.

Heavenly Stem of Ji(己)is like garden earth or Yin Earth, it is soft and fertile for plants. The Earthly Branch of Si(巳)is the zodiac sign of snake, it element is Yin Fire. This Pillar of Yin Earth/Yin Fire, we can interpret as this pillar is in harmony, Fire give birth to Earth.
Thou we are welcoming early summer, this Yin Fire is not that strong yet until mid-summer. My little prediction is that the world will see some hope of better economy, but we can see unexpected events to happen in the Ji/Si month. Like my prediction in the month of Wu/Chen, Ji/Si also likely to produce some unexpected events around the world.

The are 3 most important parts of a house that affect the whole Qi and Harmonise of the house.
Simply put it that the Main Door, the Bedroom and the Kitchen are the heart of a house. Any of these 3 areas which does not meet the Feng Shui requirements, it will greatly affect the wealth and health of the owner staying in the house.
Below, are some good tips for the Kitchen and Stove positioning:
1. kitchen should not be in a sector where once can be view clearly from the outside of the main door.
2. Idealy, the Kitchen should not be located below a toilet or adjacent to it.
3. The kitchen must not sited at the NW sector of the whole house.(Macro level)
4. Keep the kitchen simple and do not overload it with gadgets. All knifes should be kept out of sight.
5. Place a earth pot (not too big thou), on top of the stove. The stove area should not place with metal pans and pots.
6. The stove knob should not face a toilet door or facing the kitchen door.
7.The cooker should not face the front door under any circumstances.
8. Ensure no water pipe runs directly below the stove area.
9. Fire and water should not be aligned side by side or directly
opposite the each other. Separate the two with a partition made of wood if you don't have a choice.
10. No beam above the stove area.
If all these are observed and practiced, good wealth and health should come along. However, bazi or four pillars of destiny of oneself is also important.

How to Calculate the 3 killing Mountains Location 三煞山

Every year there is a sector of the house is belongs to the San Sha Mountains. This is considers as the inauspicious location.
How do you find out this location?
For example:
Let take the Ox Year's Heavenly Stem(HS) and Earthly Branch(EB) for this example of calculation. The HS is Ji and the EB is Chou/OX, the Ox is the Tai Sui location (tai shui coming from this direction of Chou/Ox).
We have to use the 3 combination theory to find out the San Sha location. the 3 combine for Ox year is Snake+Rooster+Ox (巳SI + 酉YOU + 丑CHOU). Mao 卯 Rabbit, East is the San Sha location. Using the 3 combo theory, Si+You+Chou=Metal, Metal and Wood Clashed. Wood is in the East direction. The who of East is consider the san sha location.
What is San Sha?
The Three Killings or the San Sha affect the East sector. Three killing comprises of the triple combo of year, disaster and robbery sha. San Sha is associated with financial lost and accidents. Is like sword fighting. To take note that this sector cannot have any renovation for the whole year. In order to soften the effect at the East, place a bundle of 3 bamboo plants. Now we have North and East sectors should not have ground breaking and renovation.

Lunar New Year day is on 26th Jan 09, Monday, which is Xin Wei 辛未 day. On this day the Nobleman God is coming from the South direction where the Wealth God coming from the East direction.

Feng Shui for Year of Ox 己丑年风水 2009

Year of Ox (Ji Chou,己丑）Feng Shui. Ji Chou year will only arrive on 4th Feb 09 at 0052 hrs
This year the lunar new year is 10 days before the Spring Solstice 立春, which is on 4th Feb 09 at 0052 Hrs.All over the world, the Chinese will be celebrating the Lunar New Year on 26th Jan 09. Those born between the Lunar New Year to before Spring Solstice, will come under the zodiac sign of Rat. Ox babies are for those born on or after 4th Feb 09 at 0052 hrs.
It is time now to put up all the feng shui cures at the appropriate sectors of the house starting from Winter Solstice to before 4th Feb 09 at 0052 hrs.
The arrival of the Ox will signify the change of 'Qi', the old qi of the Rat will be replaced by the new qi of the Ox.
The Inauspicious Energies
1. The Five Yellow or Star 5 signify inauspicious and it is related to major illness. Stay away from the North sector. Importantly, those door opening at this sector need to take note not to create too much movement. Alternatively, one can avoid this as the entrance. We need to suppress the 5 yellow qi by placing a string of ancient copper coins by the door frame.

5. 2 Yellow, this star is also know as the sickness star. Use a string of 6 metal coins to suppress this star with the element of earth.
The Auspicious Energies
1. For Romance and Better Education, enhance the South Sector with a set of education placement 文昌四宝 or you can have your study corner at the South.
2. Promotion and Growth, can place water element here to have better chance of promotion.
Star 9 take center palace, this is an auspicious star. Usually, how the star fly-in into the different sector is depends on the main star which take the center stage. Ji Chou year will be Star 9 at the center stage.

Grand Duke or Tai Sui 太岁 for Year 2009

Tai Sui太岁 or Grand Duke for 2009
Tai Sui is also known as the Grand Duke Jupiter. Although it is called the Grand Duke Jupiter, it is not the actual planet Jupiter. Tai Sui is an intangible star which moves directly opposite of the planet Jupiter. In Chinese's meaning, the Tai Sui is known as the Yearly God. Tai Sui is the most powerful "Earthly God". There is a total of 60 Tai Sui.

Each year, there would be a new Yearly God on duty looking after all matters on earth. His appointment would commence on 4th Feb 2009 at 0052hrs.The next would take over the task on the following year.Year of Ox 2009, the Tai Sui is known as General Fu You 傅佑.
Each year there will be some zodiac sign that has opposing forces with the Tai Sui. These zodiac sign are said to suffer some form of bad fortune. The negative impact differs from people to people depending on individual birth data. These zodiac sign can be determined base on the earthly branch of the year as it corresponds with the 12 Chinese zodiac sign. It can classified under offend, clash or conflict formation with the Tai Sui.Since the it is Ox Year, it will clash with Goat, and conflict with Dragon and Dog.
4 pillar of destiny or known as bazi 八字 contains factors of these zodiac sign within the earthly branch - chou 丑, chen 辰, wei 未 & xu 戌, those with these sign are also deem to be affected for the year. Thus, there is also clash, conflict and or offend of either the month, day or hour pillar.
Some Taoist believers, will go praying to the Tai Sui at the beginning of the Lunar Year seeking for protection and peace would deflect the negative influence. One must return thanks at the end of the lunar year but before the winter solstice or also known as Dong Zhi.
In Feng Shui we also use this theory.It is associated to the orientation of a premise determined using the Chinese Feng Shui Compass known as Luo Pan marked with the 24 mountains. The position of the Tai Sui changes every year. The location where the Tai Sui resides should best kept quiet with no disturbance. Activities like renovation, ground breaking, earth digging, repairing and nailing on this area must be avoided till the following year. If the Tai Sui is disturbed, misfortune would befall on the residence such as injuries, financial losses, business failure or sudden illnesses. The extend of influence varies.
This Year of Ox 2009, the Tai Sui is located at the Northeast directions. If the main entrance of a premise is located within the Northeast sector, opening and closing of door is also considered as disturbing the Tai Sui.

Winter Solstice 冬季 arrived on 21 Dec 08, during this day the Chinese celebrates by offer praying with Tang Yuan 汤圆。

It is like the New Year for the Chinese.They also believe that one eaten the tang yuan, one will increase by one year of age.

In astronomy, the winter solstice is the moment when the earth is at a point in its orbit where one hemisphere is most inclined away from the sun. This causes the sun to appear at its farthest below the celestial equator when viewed from earth. Solstice is a Latin borrowing and means "sun stand", referring to the appearance that the sun's noontime elevation change stops its progress, either northerly or southerly. The day of the winter solstice is the shortest day and the longest night of the year.

December 21st is the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. The Sun is at 270 degree on the ecliptic.
The 3-4 days before and after the Winter Solstice are characterized with very poweful pozitive energy in Nature. This is a good time for receiving energy from Nature, important time for more meditation and relaxation. Even in a non-meditation state one can feel how the energy and the blood in the body are very intensified as if in a meditation state.
Now the qigong meditation is very qualitative, it gets easier and faster to enter into the deep levels of subconsciousness. The daoists, budhists and the qigong practitioners give a great importance to the meditation during the Winter Solstice and they utilize this period for more intensive cultivation. This is not
accidentally. At the Winter Solstice the yang energy starts to increase (and the days start to get larger), while the yin energy gradually starts to deminish (and the nights are becoming smaller). Slowly and almost unnoticeably the heat in Nature and in the human body is increasing from inside towards outside.
To a certain point, this is also related to the lunar month of rat (zi), in which we are now. It is represented by the ¡°Fu¡±24 hexagram in I Ching:

Lao Zi says "Returning is the movement of Dao.¡¯Fu hexagram means
¡°Returning, Coming back" and it consists of 1 yang and 5 yin. The past month (hai) was completely yin ¨C with 6 yin, but now a new cycle is beginning, in which the first rays of the Yang energy start to appear. In Chinese, this is called ¡°Yi yang chu¡± Ò»Ñô³ö (¡°the appearance of first yang¡±). That's why this is considered a great time for cultivation.
During the different 24 solar segments of the Chinese calendar, the qi is concentrated at different energy points (guan) of the small heavenly orbit Ð¡ÖÜÌì. Now, during the 15 days of the Winter Solstice period, the qi is concentrated at huiyin energy point of the body as well as in the lower dantian. Now it starts to activate especially on the Dumai (the yang meridian) of the small heavenly orbit. At the same time, the flow of energy can be felt much better and faster throughout the whole body.

Cure for 'San Sha' 三煞

Family members got injured very frequently without involving in any unsafe activities. Qi Lin 麒麟,to control the 'San Sha'三煞.
Come 2009 己丑 year, the san sha sector is at the East, under the animal sign of Ox. Main Door and Bedroom's door opening at the East 东，will be subjected to the attack of san sha.
When inflicted with San Sha, family members can be easily got injured. If this happened in any of the house members, it could be that the opening of the main door or the bedroom door are opening at the section which the san sha arrived. For the year of 2008, the san sha is at the South 南.
How to Cure the sector with San Sha?
As shown, the picture is the auspicious animal known as Qi Lin 麒麟, it is made of gold or bronze. The one made of gold is expensive, then get the bronze type. Get it from any feng shui shop.Recommended to place outside the door way facing the direction of san sha, in this case for 2009, face East. To be effective place 3 qi lins, if less than 3 the power will be weaken accordingly. It is not recommended to place lion statue as it is too aggressive. Lion is for shop or office were it is place outside the Main Door way.
Method for Locating the San Sha:
Year of Monkey E9, Rat E1 and Dragon E5 = San Sha at South.
Year of Tiger E3, Horse E7 and Dog E11 = San Sha at North.
Year of Pig E12, Rabbit E4 and Goat E8 = San Sha at West.
Year of Snake E6, Rooster E10 and Ox E2 = San Sha at East.

5 Yellow Star

Those who know Flying Star will know that Star 5 is the most deadly star to be avoided.
In chinese it is know as Wu Huang 五黄,廉贞. 5 Yellow is a quiet star. The sector of the house that is affected by 5 Yellow star required no movement at that area.
For 2009, starting from 6th Feb 2009, 5 yellow star will fly-in to North Sector of the house. In feng shui term, North is at the Kua Kan 坎.If Main Door is open at this sector, it may caused illness to the owner of the house.

What are the likely Illness?
Star 5 in North Sector will likely to inflect sickness like Kidney problem and urinating system problem.

Buiding Door Facing

One of the important tip to select a good house is based on the building door positioning and facing. The door positioning and facing have to take in the good qi for good feng shui.
There are many conditions need to be full-fill when selecting a good feng shui house. One of the first and important condition is the land form. Open ground or water in front, mountain behind and left right of the building with appropriate supports.
In this tip here, I would like to point out the important of artificial flow of water in front of a building and how to choose a better feng shui building based on the flow of the car movement and the siting of the building's main door.
1. Open Ground in front of the Building

The building's main door is in the central, do not take into consideration of the car moving direction, this is auspicious. For the better, if there is a playground, open flat ground or garden, it is much more advantage in term of feng shui theory.
2. Car Moving From Right to Left Direction

Car moving direction is from right(white tiger drection) to left(green dragon direction), the door positioning is on the left of the building, this building is auspicious.
3. Car Moving From Left to Right Direction.

Car moving direction is from left(green dragon direction)to right(white tiger direction), the door positioning is at the right of the building, this building is auspicious.
4. Car Moving From Both Directions.

Car moving from both directions, take the lane that is nearest to the building, based on the car moving direction, tip number 2 and 3 already had the answer for you. The lane that is furthest away from the building, do not take into consideration.

Tips on How to Prevent Wealth Drained

Everyone would like to have plenty of wealth. Many also afraid that when one will have to spent unnecessary money or wealth drained. Now I would like to provide you three tips on how to prevent wealth drained or losing of wealth.
Tips 1:
Toilet, Kitchen and Fish Tank should not be located in the center of the house.

The center of the house is where all the wealth gathered. It is like a wealth pool. If it happens to be the Kitchen area, the wealth is likely to be burnt into ashes. Toilet in the center of the house is also inauspicious, because it is an unhygienic area, wealth will not be there if it is a toilet area. It you placed a fish tank at the center of the house, wealth will be flow away. Please take note.
Tip 2:
Main Door should not be directly in-line with the Kitchen,Toilet,Mirror,Safe Cabinet, and Rear/Back Door.

Kitchen Stove is also consider a wealth pot, if it is facing the main door, wealth will flow out easily. Seeing the toilet directly from the main door prevent the wealth god from entering the house. Likewise, Mirror also prevent the wealth god entering the house. If rear door and main door are in-line, is like an arrow sha, where the wealth flow out easily.
Tip 3:
Name or Company Ink Stamp Should not be chip off or have blur lettering.

Name or Company Ink Stamp represent one self. It is important not to be damaged or having blur image of lettering. If a corner of the ink stamp is chip off, it may caused injury or accident to the owner. Blur lettering may caused the owner cannot concentrate on his/her work and thus incident may happened. All these causes the lost of wealth.

Lamp Post - Sha Qi

Feng Shui Compass can be used to ward off Sha Qi coming into your house.
A lamp post directly in front of the house main door will caused sha qi to the owner of the house.
In this tip, I would like to tell my readers to take very close attention to lamp posts surrounding the house, especially in front of the main door.
Lamp post are made of metal with electricity passing through it to light-up the bulb. In feng shui term, it contain the sha of 3 elements, mainly, Metal, Fire and Wood. These 3 elements are in a destructive cycle. As a result it causes sha qi.
In order for the house to receive the sha, please note that the lamp post have to in very close proximity to the main door (about 10 to 15 meters). If it is far away, I must say that the Sha Qi would not be present.

The impact on the owner would be great as it may caused sickness to the owner.
Simple cure is to remove the lamp post if possible. If the lamp post cannot be removed, hang a feng shui compass in front of the main door to naturalize the sha.

How to place cure as regard to feng shui or in short Feng Shui Cure.The word cure can also interpreted as remedy.
I believed that if a house can be properly cured or remedied at the bad sectors of the house, we can say that Feng Shui is correctly applied.
Why I say that is because, if the bad sectors are properly cured, there will be less problem in the house.
Below is a question asked by a student in feng shui class:
Im confused as to how to place cures---if this house was built in period 7-period to 2004, do I follow that flying star chart or do i follow current 2008-period 8- my apt faces north- as well as the house i live in- it faces north- im top apt. i have a bedroom in nw corner of apt, mia
To answer the above question, I think this student was really confused. Period 7 ends in 2004 and 2005 is the beginning of period 8.
What this student means by period 7 and period 8, it means that each period a different flying star chart apply. We can call this the birth chart of the flying star as it determines the time a person shifted into the house.
On top of the period flying star chart (birth chart), there is the annual flying star chart. Annual flying star is potent, it must be cured before the new year start. Those are star 2,3 and 5. If you refer to my earlier post, I have recommended how to cure those stars.

Earthly Branches and Clashes

In real world or in Feng Shui, we are evolving around changes. It is the opposite thinking and actions that made the differences. In Feng shui, we always talks about clashes. The chinese 12 animals sign is the main focal point when clashes are concerned.
See the diagram below:
Refer to the diagram, there are 12 points and each points represent an animal and location. Take for example, if you look at the North,which is the animal sign Rat, directly opposite is the South,Horse. Both constitute a clashes.It apply to the rest of the direction.
The clashes are commonly used for Date Selection:
For example, a person born in the year of Rat would not want to choose a Horse Year, day and hour for marriage or to start an important events.

House Located on a Y Junction

Question asked:
My residence is located at the intersection of three streets that come together to make a Y. My house is located right at the top of the Y where it splits off into two directions. So if you were traveling from the bottom of the Y upwards, and you kept going straight (right where > it splits) you would come right into my house. I once read somewhere > that this was not a good location and I should do something. I am beginning to believe this because the 2 previous owners were foreclosed on and ever since moving into here my finances have been in the negative and I am at the brink of foreclosure myself now. What do I do? Help!

7th Month, 6 Rods Wind Chime & 3 Coins String

A student, asked me on the follow questions regarding Feng Shui placement.

This student wants to know in the 7th solar month, can we purchase Feng Shui Product, also want to know if placing of 6 rods wind chime and 3 coins string auspicious in those direction of NW and SE.
Here are the questions and my answers:
Question 1:
Is it o.k. to purchase Feng Shui items during the 7th Month?
Answer:
It is perfectly alright to purchase Feng Shui product. The important note is that when placement of the products, it is advisable to select a suitable date which is favorable to the individual.
Question 2
Should the 6-rod-wind-chime be placed at the NE or NW(patriarch), currently I have it placed at the NW.
Answer:
Wind Chime of metal made is consider as an element of metal. 6 rods, the figure 6 is metal as well. The NW section is of Metal elements as well. Placing a 6 rod wind chime if this area of NW is to be enhanced, then I would say that it is perfectly clever to place it there.
Question 3:
I have a 3-coin string hanging at my main door which looks kind of small, facing SE.Any suggestion what I can hang at my main door, should I have a 6 or 9 coin string.
Answer:
SE is of wood element sector. Placing metal coin string will be in conflict. This sector is also flying star 4 sector. This area is good for academic success and also for romance. Those who want to seek academic success, placed still water will enhanced one academic success.

Too many windows in a house, is this auspicious or inauspicious?
On one of the Feng Shui training day, a student ask this question:
"My friend's house has too much of Yang Qi because there are many windows, I heard that a house with too many windows are inauspicious?"
Window is used to welcome sunlight and sunlight is considered as Yang Qi, if there few windows in a house than it is considered Yin Qi is too heavy. Too many or too few window, it has to strike a balance of Yang and Yin. If too many windows, there may be a situation where some windows are facing the auspicious directions and some windows may faced inauspicious directions, these will caused the house to become messy in term of Yin and Yang Qi.
This student asked again:
"How to harmonised this situation of too many windows in the house?
My answers, One:
No need to open all the windows, so long there is enough light from the outside, there is no necessity to open all the windows.
Two:
Too many windows too much sunlight from the outside, in this case, there is a need to put up curtains to block the lights from the outside.
Three:
Choose those window blinds that can be adjusted to control the amount of sunlight coming through the windows.

Finding Your Wealth Area.
Based on the above picture, I will show you how to find your wealth area in your house.
It is as easy as ABC, first look at the 3 pictures where the difference location of the door is situated. Based on the picture, you determine which is the layout of your hall in alignment to the door. The wealth areas are indicated. Place a potted plant at the wealth area to activate the wealth. One point to take note is that, you have to ensure the area is free from clutter and it is bright.

It is Auspicious or inauspicious for a Main Door to face the Stair?

Many old houses and offices will encounter such situation of Main Door facing the staircase directly. This type of situation, we can classified them into 2 catergories:
1. Main door facing the staircase which is leading down
2. Main door facing the staircase which is leading up
Facing the leading up staircase, the house owner health will be affected, as it will be inauspicious for the health. To hormonize this situation, we can placed a 3in height block at our main door(place it on the ground level up).
Facing the leading down, the wealth of the owner will be affected. As in, it will be inauspicious. In this situation, the owner is advised not to loan our money, because it will never return. In order to harmonize this situation, owner can placed a concave bagua on the top of the door. This is to bring back the flow out wealth.

Door Facing the Lift - Auspicious or Inauspicious

Some houses the main door faced directly to the lift. Most of the Feng Shui Masters feel that the house main door faces directly to the lift will affect the wealth of the owners. It is also not to the owners' advantage. No matter how much the owner earned it will be used up, if there is balance it will be not much left.
House main door faces directly to the lift is also know as "Open Mouth Sha".
However, if the main door that faces the lift is timely water star, or we call it the prosperity sector, in this case, it will turn from inauspicious to auspicious.
Nevertheless, most of owners will not be able to differential whether the main door is located in an auspicious or inauspicious location. If this is the case, it is advisable to harmonize it. Hang a mirror on top of the door and the door height have to raise higher.

Feng Shui Cure for Sickness

Why there is a sudden sickness happened?, western doctor will say that is a virus attack,for chinese physician they will say that the Qi in one body is not flowing properly.
To a Feng Shui Master, it interpret as the Flying Star 2 and 5, have fly-in
These 2 stars caused the owner living in that area where star 2 and 5 fly-in to be sick. Star 2 is known as 'Black Star' while star 5 is known as "Yellow Star'. These two stars are very potent, if they hit into the house areas together with the annual star and monthly flying star, those area hit by star 2 and 5 will caused sickness to whoever stay in that affected area.
The feng shui master may recommend that prevention is better then cure. How to prevent? It is recommended that use metal and wind chime is the best medicine.
If the area affected by these two stars, and it happen to be the bedroom, if the the monthly star and the annual star are 2 or 5, it is advise that the owner sleep in the hall rather than sleep in the bedroom.

Grand Duke or Tai Sui for Year 2008

The Chinese believe that each new lunar year, the year will be rule by a Tai Sui (in Chinese term) or we call it the Grand Duke.
General Deng Tang is the grand duke for the year of the rat.
Those zodiacs that are not favorable to general Deng Tang are Zodiacs facing "Disagreement" with Tai Sui are Rat, Horse, Rabbit, Rooster and Sheep; while zodiacs in "Agreement" with Tai Sui are Dragon, Ox and Monkey.
Chinese also believe that those facing the disagreement will have to offer prayer to the Tai Sui God to clean away their bad luck.
These are all just a believe and has been passed down from generations.

5 Important Points to note when seeking a Feng Shui Master to audit your house.
In Feng Shui analysis, the most important factors are:

1. Flying Star Birth Chart
The Flying Star Birth Chart depend on your house Sitting and Facing to determine the appropriate birth chart to be used. If a house is occupied during the Age 7 or 8 it will deploy a different birth chart.
2. Ruling Periods
Ruling periods is important because it will determine which flying star birth chart to be used to calculate you house. For example if you shited into a house after 2004, the ruling age is 8, before 2004 is ruling age 7.
3. Main Door Orientation
Main door orientation is for the feng shui master/consultant to check on the water theory.
4. Bedrooms
Bedrooms location is for the feng shui consultant to determine who in the family should sleep at which room for better health, wealth and luck.

Flying Star Chart - Yearly

In Flying Star Feng Shui, we take into consideration the Annual Flying Star Chart, House Birth Chart and the Monthly flying star and daily flying star chart. Below, I am talking about Yearly Flying Star Chart.

There are all together 9 flying stars moving in different directions in the Luo Shu grid(see above image).
Each star is assigned with a element:
Star 1 - Water
Star 2 - Earth
Star 3 & 4 - Wood
Star 5 - Earth

Star 9 - Fire

The two potent stars are, star 2 and 5. They are the sickness stars. These two stars can cause sickness and misfortune if the house are confronted by these two stars.
In the chart, the Star 2 and 5 are in the West and North respectively.
Main door facing Star 2 or 5 in that particular year, up most precaution should be taken. Since Star 2 & 5 are of the Earth Element and can be harmonised by using a metal object to dissolve the Sha Qi.

5 Yellow Star ( #5 )

5 Yellow, a misfortune star has arrived in the South Sector for year 2008. It is one of the most dangerous star that indicates accidents, illness and just bad luck all round. Do not attempt any groundbreaking, renovation or drilling in this sector as you will disturb the 5 yellow. An auspicious time and date selection must be given to perform these activities.

If your are sitting with your back facing the window in the office. At the same time cannot hang a portrait of a mountain.
What is the remedy?
All you need is solid support. If you cannot hang a picture of a mountain behind you, try at least make sure you are sitting with your back against a solid wall.
If there is a window, try and get window blinds that are heavy enough to shut out the glare from outside. At least the portion of the window that your back faces should be covered, to provide you with that symbolic support that is crucial to career success and advancement. Kua Number

Here is how you can find out your kua number
* For Male
Take your birth year. Ex:1979 => (1+9+7+9=26)
Add up the sum of 26 to form a single digit(2+6=8)
Subtract this single digit from eleven (11-8=3). This number is your Kua number.
[Note:should the final number be 5, subtract three. (5-3=2) This is your kua.]
* For Female
Take your birth year. Ex: 1983 =>(1+9+8+3=21)
Keep adding until you come up with a single digit (2+1=3)
Add this digit to four (3+4=7). This number is your kua.
[Note: Should the final number be 5, add three (5+3=8).This is your kua.]
Kua Number, is to determine the personal favorable and unfavorable direction based on kua.
If your kua is 1, you should face one of your favorable directions when studying or sitting at your office to receive sheng qi.
Generally, person with life kuas are 1,3,4,9 belong to East Group. Person who life kuas are 2,6,7,8 belong to West.

Cure for 'San Sha' 三煞

Those who know Flying Star will know that Star 5 is the most deadly star to be avoided.
In chinese it is know as Wu Huang 五黄,廉贞. 5 Yellow is a quiet star. The sector of the house that is affected by 5 Yellow star required no movement at that area.

Tips 1:
Toilet, Kitchen and Fish Tank should not be located in the center of the house.

Tip 2:
Main Door should not be directly in-line with the Kitchen,Toilet,Mirror,Safe Cabinet, and Rear/Back Door.

Tip 3:
Name or Company Ink Stamp Should not be chip off or have blur lettering.

I believed that if a house can be properly cured or remedied at the bad sectors of the house, we can say that Feng Shui is correctly applied.
Why I say that is because, if the bad sectors are properly cured, there will be less problem in the house.
